Gmail 2.0 and a catch-22
All day long I’ve notice little things with Gmail that kind of bothered me, but I couldn’t put my finger on it, until tonight when my macros all hosed out. Gmail 2.0 is rolling out, and no one invited me to the party. My scripts are all broken, but they are slowly fixing them. I have faster gmail overall and pretty contacts now, but I have to resort to using a mouse. Or I can click on the "Older Version" link at the top and use my keyboard shortcuts with a slowed uglier Gmail. Ah, the possibilities. No worries yet since it’ll be a few days (weeks?) until they fix it all.
Donna begins her new job Monday. She spoke with her boss today, and in conversation asked what calendar system he uses. Guess what he said? Google Calendar! Hehe. She test ran it at her last job and wasn’t really into it, but it looks like she needs to get back into it now, and she’s already told me that she’s back to using her personal Google calendar that’s been mostly blank for a month of two. Yeah, technology!
